“Hidden within.”

A videotape turns up on the front step of the Laurent home, an unbroken shot of their own house, and then more arrive, wrapped with crude drawings. Georges (Daniel Auteuil), host of a literary TV show, and his wife Anne (Juliette Binoche) cannot tell who is filming them, but the footage points back to Georges's childhood. Michael Haneke films it in long, static takes that give the viewer nothing to look away toward.
