“Warner Bros.' sky highest, smile widest, wild and woolliest Western of 'em all!”

Calamity Jane (Doris Day) is a sharpshooter who talks loud, rides hard and has no patience for anyone who doubts her. When the local saloon needs a star, she promises to bring back a famous actress, and the trip puts her and Wild Bill Hickok (Howard Keel) in each other's way. David Butler films it in Technicolor, with Doris Day singing straight at the camera.
