“The most powerful man in the Empire has gone insane!”

Caligula (David Brandon) is a young Roman emperor whose appetite for cruelty and degradation grows with every day he holds power. Joe D'Amato wrote, directed and shot this 1982 exploitation picture to cash in on Tinto Brass's Caligula, without making it a sequel or a remake. Around Caligula stand Miriam (Laura Gemser) and Messala (Luciano Bartoli), and he keeps demanding more: enslaved virgins and cruel vengeance, with no one at court daring to refuse him.
