Candyman

“We dare you to say his name five times.”

Helen Lyle (Virginia Madsen), a graduate student in Chicago, goes looking for the story behind a local legend for her thesis on urban folklore. The trail leads her into the Cabrini-Green housing projects, where residents lower their voices at the name Candyman, the hook-handed ghost of a man lynched in the late 1800s. Bernard Rose follows Helen as she says the name five times into a mirror, and then has to live with whatever answers.
