Norman Hopper (John Saxon) comes home from Vietnam after captivity and tries to settle back into ordinary life with his wife Jane (Elizabeth Turner). Antonio Margheriti follows him and two fellow veterans, Charlie Bukowski (Giovanni Lombardo Radice) among them, as each discovers a hunger for human flesh that will not go away. Norman keeps that appetite hidden from the people closest to him, and the film waits to see how long he can.
