Can't Stop the Music

(1980)Directed by Nancy Walker124 min · PGComedy, Music
“The movie musical event of the 80's!”

A New York composer, Jacques Morali, has a hit-making ear and a hunch that disco's next big act should be built from scratch. Nancy Walker directs this loose account of how the Village People came together, with Alex Briley as the G.I. and Glenn Hughes as the Leatherman. Each man shows up in his own costume, and the group is shaped less by the songs than by the way they hold together.
