“It takes courage to hope.”

Zain (Zain Al Rafeea) is twelve and already sitting in a Beirut jail on a five-year sentence for a violent crime. From inside, he takes his own parents to court for bringing him into a life they could not look after. The story runs back through the slums, where he meets Rahil (Yordanos Shifera) and her infant son Yonas, and Nadine Labaki keeps her camera at a child's height.
