“Who knows the truth about the curse of Captain Clegg?”

Reverend Dr. Blyss (Peter Cushing) is the soft-spoken clergyman of a Kent marsh village, and he is in no hurry to help when Captain Collier (Patrick Allen) arrives with his sailors to hunt the "Marsh Phantoms" terrorizing the coast. Peter Graham Scott sets the search among fog, wet roads and villagers who would rather not talk. Collier needs the truth before the phantoms strike again, and the town, with its curse, is closing against him.
