Captain Conan

Captain Conan (Philippe Torreton) wants the war to go on, because the battlefield is the only place he feels alive. He leads a band of French fighters on the Eastern front who prefer hand-to-hand combat, men with no use for peacetime. Tavernier follows them through the last days of the First World War, with Conan beside Lieutenant De Scève (Bernard Le Coq), a lone wolf who has nowhere else to put what he is.
