Captain Pantoja and the Special Services

Captain Pantaleon Pantoja (Salvador del Solar), a rigid and efficient Peruvian army officer, is handed an assignment he cannot refuse: set up a corps of "visitors" to serve soldiers stranded at remote jungle outposts. Francisco J. Lombardi, adapting Mario Vargas Llosa's comic novel, shows Pantoja treating it as logistics, with schedules and paperwork. His superiors have kept the army's name out of it, and Pantoja has staked his career on getting it right.
