“Out here survival is everything.”

Two small boats appear on the radar off the Somali coast, closing fast on the MV Maersk Alabama, a US-flagged cargo ship that has never been boarded in anyone's memory. Captain Richard Phillips (Tom Hanks) has a crew of unarmed merchant sailors, and Muse (Barkhad Abdi) leads the men climbing the hull. Paul Greengrass puts the whole ship at risk, and every sailor on it has to stay alive.
