“Martin just wanted a nice, quiet family vacation. Instead, he got... Captain Ron”

Martin Harvey (Martin Short) is a mild-mannered father who learns he has inherited a vintage yacht and decides the whole family will fly to the Caribbean to collect it. The boat is in rough shape, and the only man willing to sail it to Miami is Captain Ron (Kurt Russell), a roguish sailor with a checkered past. Thom Eberhardt sets the two at the helm, an uptight dad and a captain who answers to no one, each trying to win over the other.
