Car Wash

“Where anything can happen...and usually does!”

Lonnie (Ivan Dixon), an ex-con trying to stay clean, just wants to get through another shift at Sully Boyar's Car Wash in Los Angeles. The crew around him, Lloyd (DeWayne Jessie) and Duane (Bill Duke) among them, trade jokes with a steady stream of customers, including a smooth-talking preacher and a wacky cab driver, while disco and funk play nonstop. Michael Schultz sets the whole film inside one workday, and for these men the day is the whole story.
