“Space Is Cold”

The space freighter Kassandra is making its slow, rusting way toward Station 42, and nearly everyone aboard is frozen in hibernation. Laura Portmann (Anna-Katharina Schwabroh), the young medic, is the one crew member awake, with four months left on her shift. Ivan Engler and Ralph Etter, directing their first feature, build the ship out of corroded metal and narrow corridors that press in on her.
