Carlito's Way: Rise to Power

“He Rose Up On The Bodies He Left Behind”

Carlito Brigante (Jay Hernandez) is a young New Yorker who wants the one thing Spanish Harlem can give a man with nerve, which is to run it. Michael Bregman sets this prequel to Brian De Palma's 1993 film before the legend, with Carlito leaning on his two partners as he climbs through a circle of greed and retribution. Those men, Earl (Mario Van Peebles) and Nacho Reyes (Luis Guzmán), are the only thing standing between him and the street's rules.
