Carlota Joaquina, Princess of Brazil

Carlota Joaquina (Marieta Severo), a Spanish Infanta, is promised at ten to a Portuguese prince, and she wants the court, the crown and the life she was raised to expect. Then she meets D. João VI (Marco Nanini) and finds a husband she cannot stand. Carla Camurati follows the pair onto the throne and across the ocean to Brazil, with Napoleon's army coming and the whole Portuguese crown at risk.
