Carmen

Carmen (Julia Migenes) wants to be free, and in early nineteenth-century Seville she takes whatever man she likes for as long as she likes him. She seduces the sergeant Don José (Plácido Domingo), who deserts the army to follow her. Francesco Rosi films Bizet's opera on location, and once Carmen turns to the bullfighter Escamillo (Ruggero Raimondi), José is left with nothing but her.
