Nina Solomatina (Irina Muravyova) leaves her small town for Moscow, set on a life in show business. In the capital she comes face to face with Mikhail (Yuriy Yakovlev), the father who vanished years ago and has since made a new family. Tatyana Lioznova follows her through the first months of the city, where a boyfriend and a dream both ask for more than she can safely give.
