Carnival of Sinners

Roland Brissot (Pierre Fresnay) is a painter with no money and no prospects, until he buys a talisman from a stranger. It is a severed left hand, and it brings him love, fame and wealth, exactly as promised. Maurice Tourneur follows Roland through that first prosperous year, with the devil due to collect, and Roland keeps spending as if he had never been poor.
