Carol's Journey
Carol (Clara Lago), a 12-year-old Spanish-American girl, steps off the boat in 1938 and is taken to her mother's hometown, where the war is already close. Her grandfather Amalio (Álvaro de Luna) and the rest of the family keep to a careful silence, and Carol pushes back against a place she does not recognize. Imanol Uribe sets her curiosity against what the adults will not say, and the film is about how a child learns what a war asks of the people around her.
