Carrie

“You will know her name.”

Carrie White (Chloë Grace Moretz) gets her first period in a high school shower, and the girls around her answer with laughter and thrown tampons. At home, her mother Margaret (Julianne Moore) calls it a sin and shuts her in a closet to pray. Kimberly Peirce sets Carrie's discovery of her telekinesis against a week of invitations and refusals, and the one tie in the film that keeps pulling at her is the one to her mother.
