In 1492 Spain, Christopher Columbus (Jim Dale) is convinced there is a shorter way to the far East and talks the King and Queen into paying for a voyage to find it. Gerald Thomas directs the last of the Carry On series, with Dale joined by Bernard Cribbins, Maureen Lipman and a new crowd of alternative comedians. It is a plain, loud, theatrical piece of British silliness, made for an audience that wants to laugh together at old jokes.
