Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart) runs a nightclub in Casablanca during the German occupation, a man who has learned not to take sides. When Ilsa Lund (Ingrid Bergman) walks through the door with her husband Victor Laszlo (Paul Henreid), a Czech resistance leader desperate to escape, Rick realizes the past he buried has found him. What he does next will decide whether Ilsa stays or leaves, and what remains between them when the choice is made.
