Sam "Ace" Rothstein (Robert De Niro) arrives in Las Vegas to run a casino for the mob, bringing order to the floor with an obsessive eye for detail and angles. He meets Ginger McKenna (Sharon Stone), a hustler and former call girl, and marries her, believing he can remake her into the wife he needs. Scorsese traces what happens when a man builds a kingdom on other people's money and tries to build a life on a woman who won't stay remade.
