In the small town of Whipstaff, Tim Carson (Steve Guttenberg) moves in with his son Chris (Brendon Ryan Barrett), a lonely kid with no friends his own age. Then Chris meets Casper, a friendly ghost who has never learned how to haunt, and decides to teach him how to be a proper one. Sean McNamara sets this prequel to the 1995 film in a sunny, family-sized hush, with Rodney Dangerfield (Mayor Hunt) and Michael McKean (Bill Case) crowding the edges.
