Cassandro

“Changing the game, one match at a time.”

In El Paso, Saúl Armendáriz (Gael García Bernal) wrestles in small local rings, a gay amateur in a sport built on macho swagger. He invents Cassandro, a flamboyant character the film calls the "Liberace of Lucha Libre," and the crowds start to follow. Roger Ross Williams gives Saúl two women at the edge of the ring, his mother Yocasta (Perla de la Rosa) and his trainer Sabrina (Roberta Colindrez), and each holds a different hope for the life he builds.
