Catch-22
“The nice thing about war is that the person who kills you really has nothing against you. Personally.”
Captain John Yossarian (Alan Arkin) is a bombardier at a Mediterranean airbase in World War II, and he has worked out how to stop flying missions: get certified insane. The one man who can sign the papers is Doc Daneeka (Jack Gilford), who points to a regulation that seems to close every door. Mike Nichols fills the base with officers like Colonel Cathcart (Martin Balsam), but Yossarian keeps trying, one more form and one more excuse at a time.
