Ceddo
The Ceddo want to keep their own ways, and a king who has sided with the Muslims is forcing every household to convert. To protest, a Ceddo kidnapper (Ismaila Diagne) takes Princess Dior Yacine (Tabata Ndiaye), the king's daughter, and the village is thrown into a standoff. Ousmane Sembène sets the dispute among Islam, Christianity and the slave trade inside one village, with Prince Biram Ngone Thioub (Mamadou Dioumé) waiting to claim her.
