Céline and Julie Go Boating

Julie (Dominique Labourier) is a librarian who spends her days daydreaming, until she meets Céline (Juliet Berto), a magician who seems to have wandered in from somewhere else. Jacques Rivette follows the pair into a haunted house, where they find psychotropic candy and a murder-mystery melodrama that keeps playing out. The two women become friends and then accomplices, trading places and sharing secrets, each one the only person who can follow the other.
