Cell 211

“To survive inside, he has to become one of them.”

A prison riot breaks out on the day a rookie guard is supposed to be shown around, and the one thing keeping him alive is a lie. Juan Oliver (Alberto Ammann) passes himself off as an inmate to the men who now run the cell block, among them the rebellion's leader, Malamadre (Luis Tosar). Daniel Monzón keeps the camera inside the prison walls, so the shouting, the smoke and the bodies pressed into the corridors leave Juan no way out of the frame.
