“If the signal dies so does she.”

A stranger's call comes through on Ryan Hewitt's (Chris Evans) cell phone: Jessica Martin (Kim Basinger) says she has been kidnapped, and her husband and child are next. David R. Ellis keeps Ryan moving on foot and by car, with the call his only link to her. If the signal drops, she is gone, and Ryan holds the phone to his ear and does not let go.
