Cesar and Rosalie

“Would you do as Rosalie did?”

Rosalie (Romy Schneider) wants to keep the life she has built with César (Yves Montand), a loud, generous businessman who fills every room he enters. Then David (Sami Frey), the man she loved before him, comes back, and César's jealousy begins to crowd the people around her. Claude Sautet films the three of them in cramped cars, cluttered kitchens and crowded dinners, close enough that none of them can look away.
