C'est La Vie

Thirteen-year-old Frédérique writes her days to an imaginary reader in her diary, and the voice-over carries us through a summer in 1958 at a rented house in La Baule-les-Pins. Diane Kurys fills the house with a sister, brothers, an uncle and aunt, a nanny who grates on everyone, and a boy who wants a kiss. Lena (Nathalie Baye) and Léon (Jean-Pierre Bacri) are still sharing a roof, and their marriage is coming apart.
