Bob (Vincent D'Onofrio) is a serial killer who murders a woman, then keeps her young son and gives him a new name, Rabbit. Jennifer Lynch follows the boy through years of captivity, when Rabbit (Eamon Farren) is old enough that Bob starts grooming him as a protégé. What the film puts in front of you is how a child learns to survive the one person who decides whether he lives.
