Appukuttan Nair (Mohanlal) is out of work and owes money he has no way to repay. When he pulls a wealthy woman out of danger and carries her to the hospital, her relatives take him for her husband, and he lets them, because the family has the cash he needs. Priyadarshan fills the hospital corridors with relatives, with Lekha (Pooja Batra) in the middle of them, and Appukuttan stands there in the same shirt, holding up the lie.
