“A MARVEL MOVIE—Nothing Else Describes It!”

In 1927, in the jungles of northern Siam, the farmer Kru lives with his wife Chantui in a hut raised off the ground, clearing a small patch of land for rice. Merian C. Cooper and Ernest B. Schoedsack filmed the family alongside the animals that share the forest, using real people and real beasts instead of actors. When elephants begin to push into the clearing, the whole village stands to lose its crops and its homes.
