Charade

“Is anyone really who they seem to be?”

Regina Lampert (Audrey Hepburn) comes home to Paris from a skiing holiday in the Alps wanting only to end her marriage, and she finds her husband dead and her apartment emptied. Soon three of his old wartime associates are circling her for a quarter of a million dollars, and the one man she trusts is Peter Joshua (Cary Grant), whom she met on the slopes. Stanley Donen keeps the jokes and the menace in the same scene, since nobody here is quite who they say they are.
