Charisma

Goro Yabuike (Koji Yakusho) is a detective who hesitates for a single moment during a hostage standoff, and the chance to act is gone. He leaves his job and his family without explanation and walks into a mountain forest, where he finds a strange tree called Charisma. Kiyoshi Kurosawa sets him down among people who have their own claims on the tree, and what Yabuike stands to lose is a good deal more than his post.
