Charlie Says

California's women's prison, in the years after the death penalty was lifted, holds three followers of Charles Manson (Matt Smith) whose sentences are now life. Karlene Faith (Merritt Wever), a graduate student, is sent in to teach Leslie Van Houten (Hannah Murray) and the others. Mary Harron keeps her attention on the women rather than the man, letting him matter mostly through what they still repeat.
