Charlie's Country

In a remote Aboriginal community, the government intervention has brought new policing and whitefella laws that make little sense to Charlie (David Gulpilil), an aging man who feels more out of place each day. Rolf de Heer follows him as he walks away from the community, seeking to live the old way, while his kin settle into the new rules. Charlie moves through the bush alone, the sun-bleached ground and sky stretching in every direction.
