Charlotte Gray

“The story of an ordinary woman in an extraordinary time.”

Charlotte Gray (Cate Blanchett), a young Scottish woman, parachutes into Vichy France during World War II to work with the Resistance, and she has her own reason for going. Her lover, an RAF pilot named Peter Gregory (Rupert Penry-Jones), is missing, and she hopes the search will lead her to him. Gillian Armstrong films the occupied countryside and its cramped rooms with a plain, patient eye, keeping close to Charlotte's face.
