On a farm, with the season turning toward autumn, a young pig named Wilbur (Henry Gibson) learns what usually happens to pigs when it ends. Iwao Takamoto and Charles August Nichols follow him through the barn, where a spider named Charlotte (Debbie Reynolds) lives above his pen. She takes his side, and the two of them start working on a plan. Between a frightened pig and a patient spider, a friendship begins to grow.
