Chasing Two Hares

Svyryd Petrovych Holokhvosty (Oleg Borisov) runs his own barbershop and has a name in town as a dandy, but he has just lost everything at cards. His plan to fix that is a profitable marriage, and Pronia Sirko (Margarita Krinitsyna), rich and plain, falls for his courtship. Viktor Ivanov builds the comedy on that mismatch, the courtier after her money and the girl who takes every compliment as love.
