Mostafa Chamran (Fariborz Arabnia), Iran's first post-revolutionary defense minister, has two days in August 1979 to keep the city of Paveh from falling to Kurdish separatists. Ebrahim Hatamikia follows him through the 48 hours after Ayatollah Khomeini sends him to command the fighting in Kordestan. Chamran moves between the officers, the townspeople and the front, and the film keeps asking what he is willing to carry for a city that is slipping from his hands.
