The family arrives at the manor house in 1932 for Dolly Thatcham's (Felicity Jones) wedding, bringing their cheerfulness, their chaos and their old grievances. Then Joseph (Luke Treadaway), her lover from last summer, turns up, and Dolly's mother (Elizabeth McGovern) has no intention of letting him disturb her plans for her daughter. Donald Rice leaves Dolly at the center of it all, a bride in her wedding dress while the house fills with guests.
