Chelsea Girls
Two screens run side by side in this 1966 film from Andy Warhol and Paul Morrissey, one in color, one in black and white, and no one tells you which room belongs to whom. The residents of the Chelsea Hotel drift through them: Nico, Susan Bottomly, Brigid Berlin as the Duchess, Mary Woronov as Hanoi Hannah. Over three hours the camera sits and watches, and each person on screen keeps performing for it.
