“The true untold story.”

Joseph Bologne (Kelvin Harrison Jr.), the illegitimate son of an African slave and a French plantation owner, wants a place in the French court that his birth says he can never have. He pushes his way in as a celebrated violinist, composer and fencer, drawing the attention of Marie Antoinette (Lucy Boynton) and the love of Marie-Josephine (Samara Weaving). Stephen Williams follows his rise, and every step up puts his love and his standing with the queen at risk.
