Chi-Raq

“No peace. No piece.”

Lysistrata (Teyonah Parris) lives on Chicago's South Side with Demetrius "Chi-Raq" Dupree (Nick Cannon), a gang leader whose rivals include Sean "Cyclops" Andrews (Wesley Snipes). Spike Lee adapts Aristophanes' old Greek comedy and sets it in Englewood, where the shootings have not let up. Lysistrata decides the women will refuse sex until the men stop killing each other, and the neighborhood's peace now rests on that vow.
