Ginger (Julia Sawalha) has kept her flock of chickens alive on a struggling farm, but the new owner plans to turn them into chicken pies. When a rooster named Rocky (Mel Gibson) arrives with talk of escape, Ginger rallies Bunty (Imelda Staunton), Babs (Jane Horrocks), and the rest of the coop to build a flying machine and flee. They have only days before slaughter to finish the contraption and get every bird to safety.
