Chihayafuru: Part I

“Getting stronger, devoting my entire youth”

Four years after a transfer student from Fukui taught her karuta, Chihaya Ayase (Suzu Hirose) starts a club at her high school with her old friend Taichi Mashima (Shuhei Nomura). She learned that Arata Wataya (Mackenyu) has stopped playing, and she is sure he will turn up again if she keeps the game going. Norihiro Koizumi leaves the three of them in the memory of those elementary school afternoons, where it all began.
